Your Group Is Negotiating with God. What If the Breakthrough Isn't Better Circumstances — It's Unwavering Commitment?

What if your small group stopped waiting for life to cooperate before saying yes to God — and started choosing yes in the valley, surrendering plans with trembling hands, building on the only foundation that holds?

That's what this is.

HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN YOUR GROUP'S LIVES RIGHT NOW:

They're saying yes to God... conditionally.
"I'll trust You IF this works out."
"I'll surrender WHEN I understand the plan."
"I'll say yes AFTER the valley ends."
They're white-knuckling plans they're afraid to release.
They're building their lives on things that shake — and wondering why they feel unstable.
They're faking strength when they're actually broken inside, needing faith they don't have. They've been told "just obey God" but nobody's shown them the journey from conditional yes to unwavering commitment.

And they're showing up to your small group wondering if they'll ever move beyond "yes even though" to "yes no matter what."

They need more than another Bible study about "surrender" or "trust."

They need to discover that God's YES to them in Christ makes their yes possible.

They need to understand that saying yes starts with choosing worship in the valley — before they feel it.

They need permission to admit they're broken and ask God for the faith they don't have.

That's what YES I WILL does.

WHY THIS WEEK'S THEME MATTERS FOR YOUR GROUP:

YES I WILL isn't a playlist about positive thinking or "just trust more."

It's a journey from chosen praise through surrendered plans, honest dependence, unshakable foundation — all the way to covenant commitment that survives every test.

The arc is intentional:

Song 1: Choosing praise in the valley.

Song 2: Surrendering your plans.

Song 3: The honest cry for help.

Song 4: The unshakable foundation.

Song 5: The unwavering commitment.

This isn't information. This is ACTIVATION.

Your group doesn't need more content about obedience. They need to actually choose worship before they feel it. They need to open their hands and make room. They need to build on the rock.

Song 5 is that moment — when "yes even though" becomes "yes no matter what." That's where everything lands.

WHY MUSIC-BASED BIBLE STUDY CHANGES EVERYTHING:

Here's what you already know: Music breaks down walls that sermons sometimes can't.

Your people will declare something in a song they'd never say in a prayer. They'll open their hands during worship when they'd never do it on command. They'll cry when a lyric names exactly what they've been negotiating with God.

Music bypasses the performance.

But here's what most groups miss: They play the music and move on.

They don't CREATE SPACE for people to actually choose yes. They don't connect the surrender to Scripture. They don't guide people from "I'll say yes when..." to "NO MATTER WHAT — YES" — in the room.

That's what YES I WILL does differently.

This isn't "play some worship songs and discuss obedience." This is a complete, intentional arc where every song has a PURPOSE, every position has a ROLE, and the whole journey guides your group from conditional yes to unwavering commitment.

Your people are already negotiating with God about something. You're giving them the theology, the Scripture, and the PERMISSION to stop negotiating — and just say yes.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU USE THIS WITH YOUR GROUP:

They SHOW UP differently. Because they've already listened to the playlist during the week, they come having already felt something. Now you're giving them biblical language for what they experienced — and a safe place to go deeper.

They PARTICIPATE honestly. Music-based discussion creates permission to name real valleys, real plans they're holding, real brokenness. They're not performing — they're writing down their valleys on cards, declaring "I WILL" over them, and discovering they're not the only one.

They OPEN THEIR HANDS. The Open Hands Prayer in Position 2 creates a physical posture of surrender. They're holding their hands out — palms up, open — while praying "I had other plans, but I'm going with Yours." That's not abstract theology. That's embodied yes.

They ADMIT BROKENNESS. The Broken Prayer in Position 3 uses clay to shape what's broken in them — then physically hands it to God. When a room full of people admits "give me faith," something shifts. Human effort ends. Divine empowerment begins.

They BUILD ON THE ROCK. The Foundation Audit in Position 4 forces honesty: What are you ACTUALLY building on? Not what you wish. What you ARE. Then they rebuild on Christ. Column 1 vs. Column 2. That's the audit that changes everything.

They MAKE A COVENANT. The Covenant Declaration in Position 5 is unlike anything else in the arc. They write "No matter what, my answer is yes," sign it, date it, and declare it out loud in front of everyone. That lands differently than any discussion question.

They COME BACK. Because this met them where they actually are. In their valleys. In their white-knuckled plans. In their conditional yes. And it showed them the journey to unwavering commitment.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT FROM EVERY OTHER CURRICULUM:

Traditional Curriculum: Treats obedience as a spiritual discipline to master
YES I WILL: Reveals yes as RESPONSE to God's YES — empowered, not manufactured

Traditional Curriculum: Makes obedience about trying harder (more commitment, more willpower)
YES I WILL: Makes yes about WHO YOU'RE ANCHORED TO — Christ as foundation, not circumstances

Traditional Curriculum: Stays theoretical — they tune out
YES I WILL: Built on music already in their playlists with questions that force them to name what they're actually negotiating with God

Traditional Curriculum: Passive learning — one-way, lecture-style
YES I WILL: Active embodiment — they choose worship, open hands, admit brokenness, audit foundations, make covenants. It's THEIR yes.

Traditional Curriculum: Requires hours of prep to make it work
YES I WILL: Zero prep. Download. Press play. Create space. Done.

This isn't curriculum. This is a YES ACTIVATION.

It's taking what your group is already desperate for (genuine commitment, unwavering trust, the faith to walk God's plans) and creating the conditions for them to CHOOSE it — not just hear about it.

WHO IS JDOT PINE?

JDOT Pine is a former Chicago educator, conference speaker, and survivor of death.

On May 13, 2021, JDOT died. He experienced Heaven. And Jesus sent him back saying: "There's still so much for you to do."

He came back angry, confused, with no plan — just the Holy Spirit burning inside him and the question: "Why would You show me all that only to send me back?"

Years later, the answer hit him: Showing him Heaven was THE ONLY WAY God could get him to say yes to what He had planned.

Because if he hadn't experienced THAT, he never would have said yes to THIS.

Now living with Primary Progressive Aphasia — a rare form of dementia affecting language, cognition, and motor skills — JDOT creates The JDOT Five every week:

Five songs. One theme. One journey with Jesus.

He questions God with every step. "Really? Me? You sure You have the right guy?"

But he says yes anyway.

Position 1 in real time: Choosing praise in the valley even when migraines steal days
Position 2 in real time: He never HAD ministry plans; God revealed them slowly, and he said yes
Position 3 in real time: Not "do You know what You're doing?" but "give me faith to walk this out"
Position 4 in real time: Building on Christ while brain, body, and mobility fail
Position 5 in real time: Some days unwavering, some days back at Position 3 — but the journey continues

He didn't build YES I WILL from a place of having unwavering yes figured out.

He built it from a place of living the journey from conditional obedience to covenant commitment — and discovering that God's YES to him in Christ makes his yes possible.

That's what makes this authentic.

That's what your group will feel.

COMMON QUESTIONS:

"Will my group actually engage with this?" Yes. These songs are already in their playlists — or close to it. You're giving them theology for what they've already felt. And the questions aren't theoretical — they ask about REAL valleys, REAL plans, REAL brokenness. People engage with what names their actual experience.

"I don't meet weekly. Can I still use this?" Absolutely. Use one theme per meeting, regardless of frequency. Monthly group? One theme per month. It flexes to your schedule.

"Is this theologically sound?" Yes. Every teaching point is Scripture-based. The theological foundation is rooted in 2 Corinthians 1:20, Matthew 7:24-25, Luke 9:23, Romans 12:1, Philippians 2:13, and the journey from conditional obedience to covenant commitment. You can trust what you're teaching.

"What if my group doesn't feel ready to say 'no matter what'?" Perfect. That's exactly who this is for. The Valley Declaration in Position 1 meets people where they are — choosing worship even when it costs something. The unwavering yes develops through the arc. That's why it's Position 5, not Position 1.

"Do I need any special software or tools?" Nope. It's a PDF. Download it. Print it if you want. Use it on your phone, tablet, or laptop. That's it.

"What is THE FIVE YESES challenge?" A daily practice for the week — one prayer/action for each position, Monday through Friday. Day 1: Choose praise. Day 2: Surrender one plan. Day 3: Pray "give me faith." Day 4: Audit your foundation. Day 5: Declare "no matter what." It's how the arc becomes a lived practice, not just a conversation.

"What if people in my group are carrying REALLY heavy things?" This guide addresses real valleys — the kind that don't end quickly. Diagnosis. Loss. Broken plans. Uncertain futures. It's not surface-level. It creates space for people to choose yes in the middle of hard things — not after they resolve.
